Intellihot units create warmth for school children.
When this school’s mechanical room was redesigned and updated, the school chose Intellihot’s reliable and robust water heater to meet all the hot water demands of the whole school.
The Park School has offered an exceptional independent education to boys and girls in pre-kindergarten through eighth grade since 1888. Their diverse student body of over 550+ students comes from the Boston metropolitan area to a beautiful 34-acre campus in Brookline, Massachusetts near Jamaica Pond. At Park, students develop a passion for learning. Their outstanding teachers get to know each child through small classes and an active partnership with parents.
"In the first five months of its use, the Intellihot iQ1001 unit has exceeded our expectations by providwing ample on-demand hot water for the two largest instructional buildings and 700+ students, faculty and staff that make up The Park School community. The peace of mind knowing that we are modeling one of Park’s core values in terms of being environmentally thoughtful coupled with the confidence of having a new, more compact, and reliable system in place is invaluable." - Jennifer Mullin, Director of Facilities
The school had large cast iron heating boilers that were run all year long for domestic water. The building’s water heater had a 350 gallon glass-lined storage tank. The indirect coil has been replaced over the years but the water heating system was at the end of its useful life.
The Intellihot Solution
The school installed one Intellihot iQ1001 condensing water heater that carries the load for the entire building with no storage tank required. The Intellihot system is reliable and energy efficient and creates energy savings for the school.
